Legalization of documents destined to Russia

Documents issued in the United Arab Emirates which are intended for use in the Russian Federation, must be submitted to the Russian consulate in Dubai after being attested at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Legalization of Russian Documents destined abroad

Documents issued by Russian authorities which will be used in other countries should be legalized, usually following this authentication process:

  1. A notary in Russian attests a copy of the document and the corresponding certified translation into a foreign language;
  2. The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation attests the signature and seal of a notary on the document and its translation;
  3. The Consular Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry attests the seal and signature of the Russian Justice Ministry official.
  4. After the legalization of the Consular Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry documents must be legalized by the Consular Section of the Embassy or the Consulate General of the State where they are to be used.
